A simulation that takes into account body proportions, fit, size, and even the fabric of the garment itself was introduced by Walmart last May. That technology will now be available on Walmart.com and the Walmart mobile app.
The shop is currently offering a beta version of its “Choose My Model” function, which allows customers to choose a model that best matches their appearance and body type. At launch, online shoppers will be able to choose from 50 various models to find one that best reflects their skin tone, height, and body type.
These virtual models are presently 5’2′′-6’0′′ tall and in sizes XS-XXXL. Walmart said it expects to unveil roughly 70 new models in the coming weeks to give more variation in terms of size, skin tone, and even hair colour.
Walmart Global Tech’s neural networks evaluate catalog photographs of garments to build a dressed image utilising computer vision techniques across a varied range of Walmart model images, according to the company’s launch release.
The usage of neural networks helps determine the numerous variations accessible in a single product, such as size, colour, and sleeve length. The retailer claims the new method can capture all these variances.
