Daraz had a great year in 2021. Daraz completed the year with over 40 million active users across five markets, according to founder and CEO Bjarke Mikkelsen.
According to him, Daraz is well positioned for 2022 due to its service development and optimization, as well as favorable market dynamics in South Asia.
Daraz’s goals for 2022 are to improve the customer and seller experience and to increase the participation of women in the marketplace. He attributed the remarkable rise to positive word of mouth. According to Mikkelsen, Daraz’s customer satisfaction numbers climbed considerably.
Among other causes, Mikkelsen notes that South Asia’s digital maturity has accelerated, partly due to Covid-19, but also due to significant government concentration. The epidemic, he says, has shifted more clients to online shopping, forcing SMEs to discover new sales channels.
