Citi has renewed its cash management agreement with Etihad Airways, enabling the airline in its ongoing Treasury transformation efforts to improve automation, digitization, and overall efficiency.
Ethiad will receive access to Citi’s digital capabilities in working capital and liquidity management, payments and collections, reconciliation and visibility, as well as collaborate closely with Citi’s Innovation Lab to develop a number of AI-based and API-based treasury management technologies.
Through its internal digital innovation lab, Etihad Airways deployed a number of new capabilities employing robotic process automation, machine learning, and AI in 2021, saving 73,000 manhours in productivity advantages, which it will continue to improve on through this relationship.
Through collaboration with Citi’s ESG team, Etihad will also look into ways to improve its worldwide leadership in sustainable aviation finance.
